Long Red Rods

  This series of rods develops visual discrimination of length, while height and width remains constant. Activities with these rods prepare the child for working with a Number Rods, as well as other mathematical concepts. The ten solid wooden rods are constant in height and width (2.5 cm) while increasing in length in equal units from 10 cm (short) to 1 meter (long).

ADVANTAGE: This improves size discrimination, visual discrimination, spatial awareness, fine motor skills, and understanding of measurement-related mathematical concepts. These materials provide a hands-on, tactile approach to learning about length and size, allowing for a more in-depth understanding of these fundamental concepts.
