  The Golden Bead Materials introduce the child to the decimal system with concrete representations of the hierarchy of numbers. Quantity and place value of the decimal system are explored by the child in activities in the operations of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.

ADVANTAGE: By providing a tactile representation of numbers, the material assists children in developing a strong foundation in numerical recognition. Children practice counting, combining, and separating golden bead units, which promotes counting and numerical proficiency.
